Youth CREATE was founded by Carol Russell in 1987, originally named SMYT (Sawbridgeworth Musical Youth Theatre) as a focus for local young people.
In 1994, the organisation gained its charity status and changed name to Youth CREATE.

Over 35 years later, Youth CREATE is still going strong as a Performing and Creative Arts Development Theatre Charity. We offer personal and social development for children and young people of all abilities – through the medium of creative and performing arts.
We are recognised as one of the leading Performing Arts groups in the area with award winning performances at The London Palladium and IndigO2, Youth CREATE has continued to evolve with the times and still offer affordable professional classes that everyone is welcome to attend.
